Airbus strengthens A320 Family delivery capacity in Toulouse with a new delivery centre

Toulouse, France, 15 September 2026 – To support the ramp-up of the A320 Family, Airbus has inaugurated a new delivery centre at its Jean-Luc Lagardère site in north-west Toulouse. Designed to optimise the final stage prior to the aircraft delivery to customers, the new complex streamlines industrial flows by bringing production, technical adjustments and customer delivery together in a single location.

Covering more than 35,000 m², the construction project mobilised over 700 people and 50 partner companies. The new delivery centre features sixteen aircraft positions located in close proximity to the final assembly line, as well as a dedicated hall for single-aisle technical adjustments and finishing, streamlining and accelerating the delivery process.

Customers are received in a brand-new dedicated area, complemented by a customs clearance zone for international customers. The layout has been designed to offer customers a direct view of their future aircraft from their dedicated workspaces, combining operational efficiency with seamless collaboration.

From an architectural and logistical standpoint, the project optimises the site’s existing infrastructure with the building’s utilities above ground on a specially designed bridge in order not to interrupt with the site’s natural groundwater resources. This new infrastructure represents a key element in supporting long-term production targets.

As stated at the Q1 2026 results at the end of April 2026, Airbus targets to reach between 70 and 75 aircraft a month for the A320 Family by the end of 2027, stabilising at rate 75 thereafter.

As end of August, the A320 Family backlog is 7,577 aircraft, including 5,691 A321neo.
